This is one of the best spots of huckleberries we found that was close to camp. We bribed the kids with ring pops and when their cups were full they would dump them into my big cup. I was called the huckleberry nazi but it paid off well. Also in this area we found a big hole in the side of a rock. My sister was pretty certain that is was a bear den. The rest of us were not convinced. I do have to say a bear was roaming the campsite at night so we had to keep everything up. As we were leaving, after a long day of picking, we came across a bear footprint and, yes for those of you who have ever wondered, bear poop. I have to say I was very glad to be out of there! And YES Rebecka you were right.
For those of you who know David and those of you who know me, our camping upbringings have been totally opposite. David is the cabin, shower, flushing toliet, clean guy. I am the dirty, tent, cold, burnt charcoal dinners, non-flushing latrine gal. So on this trip David would only go if we rented an RV. Now, I had to humble myself because this just wasn't what I was used to. I gave in and I have to say I think my ways have changed. It was REALLY nice!! The kids also thought it was great. We piled all the older kids into the top bunk and had a movie party.

This area is called Stolly Meadows. At age two I would run down this mountain, pigtails and all until I would biff it. It has many memories. My mom also went into labor a month early while we were camping here. It took my dad 45min. to make it to Cascade, Id were they had a tiny hospital. My brother Jarom was born there.
Our mode of transportaion.

For family night each family was suppose to come up with a skit. This is my kids favorite song so we thought we would lip sing to Alvin and the Chipmunks. Overall the vacation was a blast and we made some great memories.
