Our first day was at Lagoon. For those that know me, I really do NOT like the rides!! The feel of my stomach in my throat does not excite me. My kind of ride is the music wheel where you go around in circles with the wind blowing in your hair singing to "Zippedy-doo-da." So somehow the other leaders and youth coaxed me into going on the Spider, Wicked and the White Roller Coaster. Notice I only went on three big rides. I have a tendancy to panic when we get closer to the front and yes I am one of those that scream quite loudly. Needless to say on all three rides there was a long waiting period because they had problems with the rides and were testing them. I somehow made it and yes, I can say I rode Wicked!
Day Two was spent at Temple Square. What an amazing time and I am sure there were testimonies built stronger that day. The Joseph Smith movie was amazing!! There is no way you can't walk out of there and not believe that this church and this work is true. We then went to dinner at P.F. Changs and went shopping at Gateway.
Day three we woke up and headed over to Hogel Zoo. It was an elephants birthday so of course it was crowded and hot but very fun since I didn't have to keep tabs on three children. We then went to "This is the Place" monument. What another great place. Pondering over what the pioneers went through to finally get to a place of refuge and peace. I just love working with the youth and sometimes I complain because it does get over bearing trying to do it all but I just remember that,"Oh ya, I don't have to do it all." Who needs the cleanest house and kids involved in every activity. I can let the little things in life go and just focus on the great and grand things in my life like family, friends, and great books!!
